NCIt note : CDK3 can phosphorylate histone H1 and is involved in the control of the cell cycle. This gene has higher expression in p53-expressing cells than in control cells and is an immediate-early induction target of p53-mediated apoptosis. Alternative splicing of the gene, results in two transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms.;
