odor and emits toxic and irritating fumes when heated to decomposition. Hexachloroethane
was used as an anthelmintic to treat fascioliasis in cattle and sheep, in refining
aluminum alloys, in smoke bombs and pyrotechnic and as a degassing agent and polymer
additive. Exposure to this substance irritates the skin and mucous membranes, causes
liver damage and acts as a central nervous system depressant. Hexachloroethane is
