" /> Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 9 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 9;

NCIt synonyms : C-Jun Kinase 2; C-Jun N-Terminal Kinase 2; Stress-Activated Protein Kinase JNK2; MAPK9; Jun Kinase; SAPK1a; JNK-55; MAPK 9; Stress-Activated Protein Kinase 1a; MAP Kinase 9; EC 2.7.11.24; MAP-Kinase-9;

NCIt definition : Mitogen-activated protein kinase 9 (424 aa, 48 kDa) is encoded by the human MAPK9 gene. This protein is involved in cytokine signaling, protein phosphorylation and transcriptional regulation.;

NCIt note : MAPK9 mediates immediate-early gene expression. MAPK9 binds scaffolding proteins MAPK8IP1/2/3. MAPK9/UV-induced apoptosis appears related to cytochrome c-mediated cell death. Increased p53 stability in nonstressed cells results from MAPK9 blocked p53 ubiquitination. MAPK9 appears required for T-helper cell differentiation into Th1 cells.;
