" /> Type-2 Angiotensin II Receptor - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Type-2 Angiotensin II Receptor;

NCIt synonyms : AGTR2; Angiotensin Receptor 2; AT2; Angiotensin II Receptor, Type 2; Angiotensin II Type-2 Receptor; Angiotensin Receptor-2;

NCIt definition : Type-2 angiotensin II receptor (363 aa, 41 kDa) is encoded by the human AGTR2 gene. This protein is involved in signal transduction, apoptosis, and the regulation of blood pressure.;

NCIt note : Angiotensin Receptor 2, encoded by the AGTR2 gene, is an integral membrane protein and a member of G-protein coupled receptor family. It plays a role in the central nervous system and cardiovascular functions that are mediated by the renin-angiotensin system. This receptor mediates programmed cell death (apoptosis). In adults, it is highly expressed in myometrium with lower levels in adrenal gland and fallopian tube. It is highly expressed in fetal kidney and intestine. (LocusLink);
