NCIt definition : A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation t(15;19)(q14;q13.2) which fuses the first 17 exons of the CIC gene with intron 4 of the NUTM1 gene. This rearrangement may be associated with NUT-rearranged midline carcinoma and CIC-rearranged sarcoma.;

NCIt note : CIC/NUTM1 fusion transcripts were characterized using RNAseq, RT-PCR/direct sequencing and FISH; the putative fusion protein has not been observed.;
