NCIt definition : A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal rearrangement involving the short arms
of chromosomes 6 (6p) and 16 (16p) that results in an in-frame fusion between exon
8 of RREB1 and exon 11 of MRTFB. This fusion is associated with ectomesenchymal chondromyxoid
tumor.;
NCIt note : There have been reports of biphenotypic sinonasal sarcomas and other biphenotypic
head and neck solid tumors expressing the RREB1/MRTFB fusion gene. A translocation
t(6;16)(p24;p13) was also noted. (Genes Chromosomes Cancer. 2018;57:203-210.);
