NCIt definition : A preparation of off-the-shelf (OTS) allogeneic human dermal ex-vivo expanded mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) expressing the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) efflux transporter, subfamily B, member 5 (ABCB5) that can potentially be used in the treatment of various skin-related and systemic inflammatory and degenerative conditions, such as recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB). Upon administration of the allo-APZ2-OTS, the MSCs are able to differentiate into several lineages, provide immunomodulatory activity, interact with various immune cells, such as macrophages, neutrophils and regulatory T-cells (Tregs), and are able to secrete various anti-inflammatory mediators and pro-angiogenic molecules. Altogether, allo-APZ2-OTS may contribute to inflammation control and tissue repair.;
