NCIt definition : A preparation of autologous natural killer (NK) cells engineered to express a chimeric
antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the cell surface protein claudin 6 (CLDN6), with
potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, the
autologous anti-CLDN6 CAR-NK cells target and bind to CLDN6 expressed on the surface
of tumor cells. This induces selective toxicity in tumor cells expressing CLDN6. CLDN6,
a tight-junction protein and embryonic antigen, is expressed on a variety of tumor
cells but is not expressed on normal, healthy adult cells.;
