" /> Genome Variation Format - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Genome Variation Format;

NCIt related terms : GVF;

NCIt definition : A tab-delimited nine-column file to describe nucleotide sequence variation data. The Genome Variation Format (GVF) is based on the Generic Feature Format Version 3 (GFF3) but the GVF specifies additional text format constraints and allows for additional attributes.;

NCIt note : The nine columns in a GVF file are as follows: 1) the sequence identifier where the variant is located (seqid), 2) the source for the variation data (source), 3) the type of variation as described by a code or term from the Sequence Ontology (type), 4) the integer representing the start coordinate of the sequence (start), 5) an integer representing the end coordinate of the sequence (end), 6) the quality score for the sequencing run (score), 7) the nucleotide strand where the variant was found (strand), 8) an integer representing the start of the next codon from the 5' end of the sequence (phase) and 9) feature attributes (attributes).
