NCIt definition : A preparation of Fc-engineered monoclonal antibody that targets the cell surface glycoprotein
CD-38 with potential antineoplastic activity. Although the exact mechanisms(s) through
which this agent exerts its effects have yet to be fully elucidated, upon administration,
anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody SAR442085 targets and binds to CD38 on CD38-positive
tumor cells. This may trigger, in addition to other possible responses, antitumoral
antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and may eventually lead to cell lysis
in CD38-expressing tumor cells. CD38, a type II transmembrane glycoprotein, is present
on various immune cells and hematologic malignancies.;
