NCIt definition : A radioconjugate composed of FAPi-46, a quinoline-based fibroblast activation protein
(FAP)-targeted tracer belonging to the group of FAP inhibitors (FAPi), conjugated
to the radioisotope gallium Ga 68, with potential use as a tracer for FAP-expressing
tumors during positron emission tomography (PET). Upon administration of gallium Ga
68 FAPi-46, the FAPi-46 moiety targets and binds to FAP-expressing tumor cells. Upon
binding, FAP-expressing tumor cells can be detected during PET imaging. FAP, a cell
surface protein, is overexpressed in a wide variety of cancer cell types.;
