NCIt definition : A term that refers to the staging of renal pelvis cancer according to the American
Joint Committee on Cancer, 8th edition. This staging system applies to renal pelvis
urothelial (transitional cell) carcinoma, including histologic variants micropapillary
and nested subtypes. It does not apply to renal cell carcinomas (are staged according
to the classification for kidney), renal medullary carcinomas (are staged according
to the classification for kidney), collecting duct carcinomas (are staged according
to the classification for kidney), lymphomas (are staged according to the classification
for Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma), and mesenchymal tumors (are staged according
to the classification for soft tissue sarcoma of the abdomen and thoracic visceral
