NCIt definition : An analogue of pegfilgrastim, a recombinant, pegylated form of endogenous human granulocyte
colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), with hematopoietic activity. Similar to endogenous
G-CSF, this agent binds to and activates specific cell surface receptors, and stimulates
neutrophil progenitor proliferation, differentiation and selected neutrophil functions.
Pegteograstim may prevent and shorten the duration of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia
(CIN). Pegylation of teograstim increases the half-life of this agent.;
