binds to and inhibits VEGF, thereby preventing its binding to VEGF receptors (VEGFRs).
This prevents VEGF/VEGFR-mediated signaling and inhibits the proliferation of vascular
endothelial cells and tumor cells. VEGF, overexpressed in a variety of cancer cells,
is associated with increased invasiveness and decreased survival.;
