NCIt definition : A subset of rapidly expanding, tumor antigen-reactive central memory cytotoxic T-lymphocytes
(CTLs) with a broad expression profile for markers of immune function (MIF), and a
particular phenotype of CD28 /CCR7 /CD27 /CD45RA-. These CTLs are formed in vivo following
administration of AGS-003 (an autologous, CD40L and tumor antigen RNA-transfected
dendritic cell (DC) immunotherapeutic agent), secrete multiple cytokines, including
interferon-gamma (IFN-g), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a), and interleukin-2 (IL-2),
and cause cell lysis. These antigen-reactive, CD28 /CCR7 /CD27 /CD45RA- CTLs, and
the phenotype changes in the patient's peripheral blood CTL pool, can be used as a
marker to evaluate a patient's immune response against the administered immunotherapeutic
agent AGS-003.;
