NCIt definition : A standardized rating scale originally developed and copyrighted by Mickie Welsh and The Parkinson Study Group in 1996 then released for publication in the journal Movement Disorders in 2003 which is used to assist the clinician in evaluating the degree to which the patient's Parkinson's disease symptoms interfere with their quality of life. This instrument contains 33 questions covering 7 areas including social/role function, self-image/sexuality, sleep, outlook on life, physical function, independence, and urinary function and can be completed by the patient. For each question, the patient must choose from five different responses.;
