secondary to compression of the OPTIC CHIASM, and elevated serum ACTH. It is caused
by the expansion of an underlying ACTH-SECRETING PITUITARY ADENOMA that grows in the
absence of feedback inhibition by adrenal CORTICOSTEROIDS, usually after ADRENALECTOMY.;
