Preferred Label : MYND Domains;
MeSH definition : Zinc finger domains (named for myeloid, Nervy and DEAF-1) that occur in a variety
of eukaryotic proteins, including RUNT-RELATED TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR 1 . They are characterized
by a cluster of cysteine and histidine residues with conserved spacing that forms
the zinc-binding motif and have beta-beta-alpha (see BETA-SHEET and ALPHA-HELIX) topology,
similar to LIM domains (see LIM DOMAIN PROTEINS) and RING FINGER DOMAINS. MYND domains
function as protein interaction motifs and have affinity for PROLINE-RICH PROTEIN
DOMAINS.;
MeSH synonym : Domain, MYND; Domains, MYND; MYND Domain; Zinc Finger MYND-Type; Zinc Finger MYND Type; MYND Motif; MYND Motifs; Motif, MYND; Motifs, MYND;
