Preferred Label : Endogenous thrombin potential after addition of Factor VIII Ab:TmSCnc:Pt:PPP:Qn:Chromo;

LOINC status : ACTIVE;

LOINC display name : Endogenous thrombin potential after addition of factor VIII Ab Chromogenic method (PPP) [Area under the curve];

LOINC long common name : Endogenous thrombin potential [Area under the curve] in Platelet poor plasma by Chromogenic method --after addition of factor VIII Ab;

LOINC short name : ETP p FVIII Ab PPP Chro-AUC;

LOINC description : The endogenous thrombin potential (ETP) is the area under the curve of a thrombin generation test (TGT). It represents thrombin's total enzyme activity and is the most predictive of bleeding and/or thrombosis risk out of all the TGT measurements. [PMID: 21262433] Measuring the ETP in the presence of Factor VIII antibodies is done to help determine the contribution of Factor VIII to the ETP. If the ETP is significantly decreased in the presence of Factor VIII antibodies, that indicates that Factor VIII had a significant contribution to the baseline ETP. If the ETP does not decrease, then Factor VIII did not have a large contribution. [PMID: 12871369];
