LOINC description : The Sequential (or Sepsis-related) Organ Failure Assessment was developed as a means
to asses multiple organ failure. As organ failure can develop or worsen over the length
of a hospital stay, the SOFA is often used daily. The SOFA includes evaluations of
six key systems, respiratory, cardiovascular, coagulation, central nervous system,
liver and renal. This panel includes representative LOINC terms for the data points
used to calculate each score as well as the six organ system scores and total SOFA
score. Note that the specific LOINC terms used for each data point in a particular
EHR may be different from those included in this panel.;
