LOINC description : This term was created for the NephroCheck test kit, which calculates the likelihood of acute kidney injury (AKI) based on urine insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP-7) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 2 (TIMP-2). Both IGFBP-7 and TIMP-2 are biomarkers for AKI. Patients with a result of 0.3 have a higher risk of developing moderate or severe AKI within the subsequent 12 hours compared to those with a result of 0.3 or less. This test kit is intended to help determine the risk of AKI in conjunction with clinical evaluation for ICU patients with acute cardiovascular or respiratory compromise within the past 24 hours.[PMID: 26948834];
