LOINC display name : Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus IgG IF (S) [Titer];
LOINC long common name : Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus IgG Ab [Titer] in Serum by Immunofluorescence;
LOINC short name : PEDv IgG Titr Ser IF;
LOINC description : This term is used to report the titer of IgG antibodies against Porcine epidemic virus
(PEDv) based on immunofluorescence staining pattern. IgG antibodies to PEDv are typically
be detected 7 to 14 days following exposure. Samples are compared to positive and
negative controls. If cells fluoresce brilliant blue-green color against a background
of non-infected cells, then the sample is considered positive; If cells do not fluoresce
brilliantly but may show background non-specific fluorescence, then the sample is
considered negative.; If cells fluoresce weakly and is not background fluorescence,
then the sample is considered suspect. If high background fluorescence does not allow
for an accurate determination to be made, then the sample is considered inconclusive.
Titers that are equal to or greater than 1:40 are considered positive.;
