Preferred Label : Cells.chromosome region 13q14 deletion/Cells counted:NFr:Pt:Bld/Tiss:Qn:FISH;

LOINC status : ACTIVE;

LOINC display name : Cells.chromosome region 13q14 del/Cells counted FISH (Bld/Tiss);

LOINC long common name : Cells.chromosome region 13q14 deletion/Cells counted in Blood or Tissue by FISH;

LOINC short name : Cells.13q14 Del/Cells NFr Bld/T FISH;

LOINC description : Deletions at 13q14 involving the RB1 gene can be detected by FISH and used for the diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) as well as other forms of cancer. Labs will report the number of cells that have the deletion out of total number of cells examined (e.g. 80 out of 100 cells, or 80%). Results are also reported in ISCN (International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature) format [LOINC: 62356-1]. This term is based, but not limited in use to, the Vysis LSI 13 (13q14) probe, which targets the RB1 gene and flanking regions.;
