LOINC description : The residual tumor, or R, classification indicates the absence (R0) or presence (R1-R2)
of residual tumor after treatment (e.g. surgical treatment alone, radiotherapy, chemotherapy,
or multimodal therapy). It is used as an adjunct classification to the TNM system
developed and maintained by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC). The R classification
reflects the effectiveness of the primary treatment, is used when designing clinical
management after treatment, and is a strong indicator of prognosis if applied in a
consistent manner.[PMID: 12015777] This term was created for, but not limited in use
