Study results demonstrate links between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and adult health. [PMID:9635069] CDC defines Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) as: emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, mother treated violently, household substance abuse, mental illness in household, parental separation or divorce, criminal household member, emotional neglect, and physical neglect [CDC:violenceprevention/acestudy]. Starting in 2009, states began collecting ACEs data using the Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), and the BRFSS survey form of the ACEs is available in LOINC [LOINC: 82152-0].;
