According to the 2008 Physical activity guidelines (PAG) for Americans, adult patients should spend at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week doing moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity or 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity. Adults who do 300 minutes (5 hours) of moderate intensity aerobic physical activity a week, or 150 minutes of vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity, have greater health benefits. For children and adolescents, the 2008 PAG recommends about 60 minutes or more per day and at least 3 days per week of either moderate- or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity.;
