LOINC description : A patient's calculated panel reactive antibody (cPRA) determines the likelihood that
a transplant recipient and donor would be incompatible. The cPRA is calculated based
on how many and which HLA antibodies the patient has compared to known information
about the HLA antigen frequencies from 1200 donors from 2003-2005.[PMID: 19958328]
The more antibodies the patient has and the more common the HLA antigens are in the
donor pool, the higher the cPRA. Calculated cPRA is not the same as a patient's percent
PRA, which is simply the percentage of a pool of donors ( 100) to which a patient
had reactive antibodies (see the HLA Ab panel [LOINC: 46993-2]). Note that panel is
part of the antibody name and a single result is expected. This is not panel term.;
