LOINC description : This assay uses antigens that are either recombinant proteins or synthetic peptides
selected to detect antibodies with a wide specificity to known isolates of the HTLV
strains. Two gag (p19 I/II, p24 I/II) and two env (gp46 I/II, gp21 I/II) bands are
used as non-type- specific antigens, to confirm the presence of HTLV I/II antibodies.
Type-specific antigens for HTLV-I (gag p19-I, env gp46-I) and for HTLV-II (env gp46-II),
distinguish HTLV-I and HTLV-II infections. There are four control lines: one negative
control (streptavidin), and three positive control lines. This term was created for
the submitter's INNO-LIA HTLV I/II Score, a Line Immune Assay.;
