carcinoid tumors with symptoms suggestive of carcinoid syndrome. Platelet serotonin
is the most sensitive indole marker for the diagnosis and follow-up of carcinoids.
In contrast to urinary 5-HIAA, platelet serotonin is not influenced by dietary intake
