LOINC display name : EBV nuclear 1 IgG and IgM IA.rapid Nom;

LOINC long common name : Epstein Barr virus nuclear 1 IgG and IgM [Color Ratio] in Serum or Plasma by Rapid immunoassay;

LOINC short name : EBV NA 1 IgG IgM SerPl IA.rapid-ColRto;

LOINC description : The presence of anti-Epstein-Barr Nuclear Antigen-1 (anti-EBNA-1) IgM and anti-EBNA-1 IgG antibodies in human serum/plasma can be simultaneously detected by rapid ELISA. Results are used to aid in the diagnosis of acute Infectious Mononucleosis (IM). The relative strength of IgG and IgM reactions is visually compared. When IgM is greater than or equal to IgG, it is indicative of acute/current mononucleosis infection and the test is reported as positive. When IgG response is greater than IgM, it is indicative of previous exposure and the test is reported as negative. Absence of both IgG and IgM is also negative and indicates no previous exposure to EBV. This code is based on, but not limited to, Merdian BioScience's MONOLERT Rapid ELISA Test for infectious Mononucleosis.;
