IUPAC definition : Isomers having the same number of each isotopic atom but differing in their positions. The term is a contraction of 'isotopic isomer'. Isotopomers can be either constitutional isomers (e.g. CH sub 2 /sub DCH O and CH sub 3 /sub CD O) or isotopic stereoisomers [e.g. ( i R /i )- and ( i S /i )-CH sub 3 /sub CHDOH or ( i Z /i )- and ( i E /i )-CH sub 3 /sub CH CHD].;
