" /> mass distribution ratio - CISMeF

Preferred Label : mass distribution ratio;

Detailed label : mass distribution ratio in micellar electrokinetic chromatography, kMEKC;

IUPAC definition : Defined as: \[k_{{MEKC}} \frac{n_{{mc}}}{n_{{aq}}} K\cdot \frac{V_{{mc}}}{V_{{aq}}}\] where n mc and naq are the chemical amounts of the analyte in the micellar and aqueous phases, respectively, K is the distribution constant and V mc and Vaq are the corresponding volumes of the phases.;

Scope note : kmekcshould not be confused with the retention factor (in column chromatography) k. however, kmekc is analogous to the mass distribution ratio (in chromatography).; in the case of an electrically neutral analyte, kmekc can be calculated directly from the migration times: kmekc tm teo teo 1 tm tmc;
