deficits, or alterations in behaviour, cognition, or consciousness. Transmission is
by haematogenous spread to the meninges and brain after direct ingestion of contaminated
food, or indirect transmission by consumption of food or water contaminated with infected
cat faeces. Confirmation is by detection of antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii in
cerebrospinal fluid or identification of Toxoplasm gondii in cerebrospinal fluid,
and advanced imaging of the nervous system.;
