Preferred Label : Voltage-gated calcium channel-associated Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome;
ICD-11 definition : Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome is a rare human autoimmune disorder of theneuromuscular
junction caused by the presence of antibodies directed against voltage-gated calcium
channels localized in the presynaptic membrane of their motor nerve terminals, thus
leading to reduced neuromuscular transmission. In approximately 50% of the patients,
Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome is reflected by a paraneoplastic manifestation and
most commonly associated with a small cell lung carcinoma whose cells also express
voltage-gated calcium channels in their plasma membrane.;
ICD-11 synonym : Myasthenic-Myopathic syndrome of Lambert-Eaton;
