ICD-11 definition : Lupus panniculitis is characterized by a destructive inflammation of subcutaneous fat. This manifests itself clinically as indurated plaques which resolve with localized fat atrophy. Depending on the intensity of the inflammation a patient may first present with atrophy rather than induration. The overlying skin may show changes of chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus. The face, upper arms, upper trunk, breasts, buttocks and thighs are most commonly affected.;
