ICD-11 definition : Bullous lichen planus is a variant of rare lichen planus characterized by the development of vesico-bullous lesions. Prevalence is unknown and only a few cases, both sporadic and familial, have been described in the literature. The disease manifests during childhood or adolescence. Bullous lesions develop on top of preexisting lichen planus papules or on normal skin and generally affect the lower limbs or the lower mucosal lip, and in some rare cases the torso. In this condition, the epithelium separates from the epidermis. In the case of oral bullous lichen planus, the vesicles and bullae burst soon after they appear which results in erosions. Etiology is unknown.;
