ICD-11 definition : Actinic cheilitis results from chronic exposure of the lower lip vermilion to ultraviolet solar radiation. Outdoor workers with fair skin who live in tropical or subtropical areas are most at risk. The condition presents as diffuse or circumscribed scaling and variable thickening of the epithelium, which is poorly protected from the harmful effects of UV radiation. Progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma may occur.;
