ICD-11 definition : Thalidomide embryopathy is a group of anomalies presented in an infant as a result of in utero exposure to thalidomide four to six weeks after conception and is associated with severe limb reduction defects represented mainly by phocomelia, i.e. absence of intercalary parts of limbs (humerus and/or forearm, femur and/or lower leg) and presence of normal or abnormal distal parts (fingers/hands or toes/feet).;
