self-limited but poorly understood disease characterised by malaise, fever, weight
loss and localised lymphadenopathy affecting particularly cervical lymph nodes. Other
important features found in a minority of cases include lymphocytopenia, a variety
of skin manifestations and an association with systemic lupus erythematosus. The histological
hallmark is histiocytic infiltration and necrosis of lymph nodes.;
