ICD-11 definition : Chronic postrheumatic arthropathy is an inflammatory, multisystem autoimmune disease
of unknown etiology. It was initially described in patients with rheumatic fever,
but, at present, is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It is characterized
by painless reversible ulnar deformities, such as swan neck, thumb subluxation, ulnar
deviation, boutonniere and hallux valgus, along with absence of articular erosions
on plain radiographs. An association with hypermobility syndrome is suggested, and
several studies have attempted to identify an association of different antibodies
with Jaccoud arthropathy in SLE patients.;
