Preferred Label : Adrenal incidentaloma;
ICD-11 definition : Adrenal incidentaloma is a tumour that is usually discovered fortuitously during an
imaging examination. The term incidentaloma is used almost exclusively for tumours
of the adrenal glands. In the majority of cases, incidentalomas are asymptomatic but
they may be associated with symptoms related to hormone hypersecretion (pheochromocytoma-like
symptoms, hyperaldosteronism or Cushing syndrome). Tumours may be uni- or bilateral.
Hormonal studies and further imagining examinations, together with regular follow-up,
should be initiated after detection. Surgery is only indicated for symptomatic cases
or for patients with rapid tumour growth. Malignant transformation is rare.;
