ICD-11 definition : Gustatory hyperhidrosis (Frey syndrome) is characterized by abnormal facial sweating in response to eating or drinking. It may occur after damage to the facial nerve from surgery, trauma or Bell's palsy. This may result in aberrant reinnervation of autonomic nerve fibres to eccrine sweat glands instead of salivary glands. Thus when salivation is stimulated, so is sweating.;
