ICD-11 definition : A disease caused by the inheritance of a HbS mutation from one parent and a HbC mutation from the other parent. This disease is characterised by abnormal rigid sickle-shaped red blood cells in the absence of crisis. This disease may present with fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, pallor of skin or mucous membranes, and jaundice.This disease is confirmed by identification of HbS and HbC mutation by genetic testing.;
