ICD-11 definition : A disease caused by an infection with Morbillivirus that is complicated by an infection in the middle ear. This disease is characterized by symptoms of measles as well as inflammation of the middle ear. This disease may also present with fever, otalgia, otorrhoea, anorexia, vomiting, or diarrhoea. Transmission is by inhalation of infected respiratory secretions, airborne transmission or direct contact. Confirmation is by detection of Morbillivirus RNA, measles-specific IgM antibodies and pneumatic otoscopy.;
