ICD-11 definition : In congenital gastric atresia, the stomach ends blindly in the antrum or pyloric canal. Congenital gastric obstruction is rare. Isolated pyloric atresia, pyloric/prepyloric membrane, or antral webs are uncommon causes of gastric obstruction in the newborn. Pyloric atresia is classified into three types: (a) complete atresia with no connection between the stomach and duodenum, (b) complete atresia with a fibrous band connecting the stomach and duodenum, (c) and a gastric membrane (prepyloric membrane) or antral diaphragm. In congenital mucosal membranes the etiology is probably related to the same factors that cause pyloric atresia.;
