ICD-11 definition : Paratyphoid fever A caused by paratyphoidal serotypes of Salmonella is similar to typhoid fever. The paratyphoid serotype is S. paratyphi A which is isolated much less frequently than S.Typhi. Paratyphi A isolates on TSI/KIA are usually K/AG and do not produce H2S. Unlike most other Salmonella, S. Paratyphi A isolates are lysine-negative and appear yellow on LIA.;
