ICD-11 definition : Juvenile gastrointestinal polyposis (JIP) is characterized by the presence of juvenile hamartomatous polyps in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. JIP is transmitted in an autosomal dominant manner and mutations in the SMAD4 (18q21.1) and BMPR1A (10q22.3) genes have been associated with the disease. However, no genetic anomalies have been identified so far in around 60% of the cases.;
