ICD-11 definition : Vasoconstriction of the extremities induced by ergot alkaloids derived either from mouldy cereals (Claviceps purpurea) or from ergotamine and related drugs. Signs include pallor and skin peeling of the fingers and toes, weak peripheral pulses, loss of peripheral sensation, oedema and ultimately dry gangrene. Convulsions, diarrhoea and psychological disturbances may also occur.;
