ICD-11 definition : A disease caused by an infection with the parasitic worm Trichinella. This disease is characterized by fever, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, fatigue, or abdominal discomfort. This disease may also present with headache, chills, cough, swelling of the face and eyes, or aching joints and muscle pains. Transmission is by ingestion of contaminated meat. Confirmation is by detection of antibodies against Trichinella in a blood sample.;
